To Obtain a Certificate or Credit for the Principles of Prevention Online Course:
GO TO: http://www.cdc.gov/TCEOnline
If you are a new user and haven’t previously obtained credit through CDC’s Training
and Continuing Education Online, click “New Participant”.
1 ] Select your state or country.
2 ] Complete the New Participant Registration Participant Profile, then click “Submit”.
3 ] Choose your login name and click “Submit”.
Check your email for your temporary password as directed by the site.
It may take a few moments for your temporary password to arrive.
1 ] Click the “Next” button and you should arrive at the login page.
Note: If your temporary password does not arrive in your email within 24 hours, please
contact CDC Training and Continuing Education Online at 1-800-418-7246 or [email protected]
2 ] Enter the username you just chose, then copy and paste your temporary password
from your email in the appropriate boxes. Click “Submit”.
3 ] You’ll be asked to change your temporary password to a permanent password.
Please choose a password based upon the criteria on the screen and click “Submit”.
4 ] Once you enter your new username and password, you should arrive on the
“Thank You for Registering” screen. Under the fourth bullet point, click “Click Here”.
In the middle box under “Keyword Search” enter:

Principles of Prevention will appear below the table on the screen. Click the Principles of
Prevention Link. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Here you will find a table listing the
different types of credit available. Choose the credit type you wish to obtain. To obtain
a certificate of completion, click “Audit”. Then click “Submit”.
After answering the questions for the post test and evaluation (if applicable) you will receive
the correct credit based upon your score.
