center to witness the meticulous care that goes
into preserving ancient artifacts. After lunch,
head to Ibn Tulun Square for an expert-led tour
of Islamic Cairo, including stops at the Gayer-
Anderson Museum, which houses a collection of

Egyptian Museum with an expert guide

largest collection of ancient Egyptian

and the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, Egypt’s
oldest pyramid. Designed by Imhotep, the
world’s first recorded architect, in the 27th
century B.C., this structure stands nearly

a prominent priest from the Old Kingdom’s
