characteriscs to enhance your
technical skills. Class will be
facilitated by Keith Radick.
Students will choose on the
rst day from two opons.
Opon 1: Choose from seven
original designs and learn
to carve a decorave spoon.
Blanks will be basswood;
however, a limited few more
exoc woods may be available.
As this is an advanced class,
carvers are expected to
provide their own tools and
personal protecve equipment,
including protecve gloves.
Basswood blanks are an
addional $30 each, payable to
the instructor.
Opon 2: Study the basics
of facial proporons and
individual element details.
Create two study scks, one of
a full human face and another
of individual components such
as eyes, nose, mouth, and
ears. Basswood blanks are an
addional $10 for two, payable
to the instructor.
Prerequisites for this class are
compleon of the SourcePoint
Basic and Intermediate carving
classes. Any excepons will be
on a case-by-case basis at the
sole discreon of the instructor.
Fee: $30 for four sessions, not
including the wood provided.

INTRO TO WRITING YOUR LIFE
STORIES

Thursday, Sept. 12, 1–3 p.m.
Somemes we need a kick
start into doing things we have
wanted to do for some me.
This two-part workshop will
introduce various methods
to get you started wring
about your life or to document
another person’s story. And
YES, everyone has a story
worth telling! We will discuss
how you can get started, the
various formats available,
and whether to focus on one
event as in a memoir or to do
a chronological autobiography.
We will also explore ways
to record someone else’s
story. Topics include: How to
decide what to include and
not include, how to organize
the work, what is the goal of
the wring and your style in
laying out the details. There
will be short wring exercises
in class. Presented by Ty Lee,
who holds a master's degree in
journalism, and has a passion
for family connecons and
storytelling.
